FAQ
Which libraries can I use?
Any Pusher client or server library: pusher-js, the official mobile SDKs, and server libraries for Node, PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, Java and .NET. You change the host and port, nothing else. See the Quickstart for ready-made snippets.
Does it work with Laravel Echo?
Yes. Use the Pusher broadcaster and set the host, port and scheme, as on the Laravel tab of the Quickstart.
Is there a cluster to choose?
No. There is one deployment, so you set a host and port instead of a cluster. Libraries that insist on a cluster value accept any placeholder.
What happens when I hit a limit?
New connections beyond the connection limit are refused, and publishes beyond the rate limit return 429 in the response body. Nothing already connected is dropped. See Limits and quotas.
Why did my publish succeed but nothing arrive?
The HTTP API reports errors in the response body with status 200, and Pusher libraries do not throw for them. Check the body for error, see HTTP API.
I switched on client events but they are rejected.
The setting applies to connections opened afterwards. Reconnect the client (refresh the page) and try again.
Can I see how many connections and messages I use?
Yes. Each app's Usage tab shows messages delivered, API calls, connections opened and data sent: by hour for the last 24 hours, or by day for the last 7 or 30 days, as far back as your plan keeps history (see Limits and quotas). The Apps page shows your organization's messages today (UTC) next to its daily limit.
Usage is collected every minute, so the numbers can trail by about that much. The dashboard does not show how many clients are connected at this moment.
Can I use my own domain for the WebSocket address?
Not at the moment.
Can I move apps between organizations?
Not yet. Create the app in the new organization and update the credentials in your code.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting an app removes its credentials and configuration. To close your account or ask for your data to be removed, write to the support address on the site.
